Social Skills Groups for Children and Young Adults

Social Skills Groups offer an effective way for building interaction skills and healthy, fulfilling social lives.

An assessment is required for all group members to help us determine the best match for each participant based on their age, support ratio, and if the program curriculum fits their needs.

Groups may vary but generally consist of techniques based on role-play demonstrations, and behavioural rehearsal exercises by a social coach and an instructor. Lessons are delivered in order, as each skill builds on the last. This 12-16 weeks social skills group may use skill practice outside of group sessions. A parent-assisted component may be included to help their child improve the effectiveness and generalizability of the program.

The groups are overseen by a Registered Behaviour Analyst registered under the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.

Note: A report on your child’s social skills will be provided at the end of the program.

We have created a vision in which our clients are productive and independent members of society. We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when there is a collaborative approach in which everyone works together!
